We live in an age of data.
Health facilities collect patient information.
Programmes track indicators.
Communities participate in surveys.
Dashboards display performance.
Reports are generated.
Yet one question remains:
Is all this data actually improving decisions and outcomes?
Data can tell us that something is happening.
It can show us where performance is changing.
It can help us compare facilities, populations, time periods and outcomes.
But data alone does not create improvement.
Measurement is only the beginning
